The InviScreen® IBDV Detection Kit provides a real-time PCR method for the qualitative detection of Infectious Bursal Disease Virus (IBDV) RNA in biological samples of animal origin. The method is based on a real-time reverse transcription and multiplex amplification strategy for the qualitative determination of the absence or presence of IBDV by detecting a region within the hypervariable region of VP2. The method is applicable to detect IBDV in tissues from Fabricius pouches collected by scraping the internal epithelial layer of the pouch using a sterile blade or swab. This kit includes an Internal Amplification Control (IAC) detection primer/probe set as a process control for the presence of PCR inhibitors. The real-time PCR method can be performed in commonly available PCR instruments with FAM and VIC/HEX fluorescence channels.
