Bovine Viral Diarrhea (BVD) is a disease of cattle caused by the Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus (BVDV), and currently one of the costliest diseases in animal production. The InviScreen® BVDV Detection Kit provides a reliable method for qualitatively determining the presence or absence of BVDV RNA in bovine samples using a real-time reverse transcription and multiplex amplification strategy based on the WOAH Terrestrial Manual 2024, CHAPTER 3.4.7. An Internal Amplification Control (IAC) primer/probe set serves as a process control for the presence of PCR inhibitors. The real-time PCR method can be performed on commercially available PCR instruments with FAM and VIC/HEX fluorescence channels.
